Finca La Morera lies towards the end of a single track lane and is surrounded by
five acres of well tended terraced gardens stretching down towards the valley floor
and the river below. The terraces are swathed in banks of lavender, rosemary and
thyme and around the house are flower beds filled with sweet scented roses, jasmine,
and bougainvillea. The giant palms, catalpa and mimosa trees provide welcome shady
areas in the high summer. There are two covered terraces for al fresco dining (one
with a large BBQ, fridge and marble sink, the other adjacent to the second kitchen)
and plenty of grassed areas providing opportunities for games.
A glistening 13 metre infinity swimming pool, ranging from 1 – 2 metres in depth
and surrounded by stone terracing, is situated just below the house. From here the
views stretch towards the city of Ronda and, in the distance beyond, to the mountains
of the Sierras. The pool is enclosed by a wooden fence and a steep bank of prickly cactus.
Behind the house is the second swimming pool; some 8 metres long and 1 ½ metres deep.
This too is gated, surrounded by terraces, and shaded by the Mulberry tree from which
the house takes its name. Beside both pools are plenty of sun beds on which to relax
and while away the day.
The organic land produces a wide variety of delicious seasonal fruit and vegetables,
all of which are available for guests to enjoy and our wonderful gardener, Miguel, will
be delighted to give you a selection of produce.
